For a long time I have kind of over looked these Maybelline eyeshadows because I never thought they would be something that would work for me. I have had the 65 – Pink Gold for a while, but I haven’t really used it. I have heard some good things so I thought I really should try them. I picked these up in my local boots, but they are also available in Superdrug and other stores that sell Maybelline. As they are a drugstore brand they are really quite affordable at about £5 a pot.
I really like the packaging I think they are so cute and are very similar to the MAC paint pots in that sense. The only issue I have had with these is that if you want to use your finger to apply it and you have long nails it will get under your nails. I wouldn’t really consider it that much of a downfall though.
The formula isn’t necessarily the smoothest as you can see it is a little uneven, but if you blend it more it looks quite nice. I have noticed that it does crease very easily, that’s probably the only real issue I have with it. They don’t obviously last 24HR, but in my experience they are still long lasting and I think are waterproof.
Maybelline have a reasonable selection of colours ranging from shimmery shades to matte shades, so there is something for everyone. They can also be used as a base for your eyeshadows to make them last longer.
Overall these are a pretty good purchase for drugstore eyeshadows and for an eyeshadow base.
