I have been waiting to get my hands on this beautiful palette for quite sometime, I ummed and arred for ages debating whether to get it, low and behold my boyfriend got it for me for valentines day. Yes, I know what your thinking Valentines day was over a month ago and it’s taken me this long to get this review up, but I had other things to review and then I just got a bit lazy these last few weeks.
Back to the review. In the UK Too Faced isn’t particularly accessible because you can only get it on their site or from Debenhams, those are your only 2 options. This palette retails for £39.00, which is a standard high end eyeshadow palette price. The packaging of this is beautiful, but when do Too Faced disappoint. Like their other palette it’s in a tin type of packaging, which is really nice and sturdy with a reasonable sized mirror on the inside. As soon as you open the palette your hit with this amazing peach scent, I’m not someone that normally likes the smell of peaches yet I love the smell of this palette.
Onto the shadows themselves, there are 18 in total, 6 of which are mattes and the rest are shimmers. You can use the palette wet or dry to get a bit that bit extra out of the shimmer shades. The eyeshadows are nice and soft with a slight bit of kick up, but nothing crazy and they blend really nicely. There was some backlash with this palette because a lot people complained there weren’t enough peachy shades considering it’s called the peach palette, however they’ve said the shades were inspired by peaches, so the purples are taken from bruises of a peach. I didn’t notice them to fade or anything throughout the day, but I don’t really find that with any eyeshadows really and I don’t use eyeshadow primer. Another thing to note is that if you have the palette open for ages it did start to give me a slight headache, I am sensitive to smells though, but once they’re on the eyes I couldn’t smell a thing. Below are swatches of all the shadows with their names.
As you can see in the images above some of the shades, like Talk Derby to Me aren’t as pigmented as the rest, which is a shame. I have to say though this is one of my favourite palettes right now, just behind the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. If your looking for a palette that isn’t just the normal browns and neutral and looking to spice things, but your maybe not they brave yet then give this a try because I would have never tried these peach shades or that green shade before I got this palette. If you are looking for something that has more neutral brown shades, then give the chocolate bar palette ago because I really rate Too Faced and their eyeshadow palettes. Let me know if you tried this and what your experience was down in the comments. Also if you enjoyed this then please feel free to like it, share it or leave a comment because it’s greatly appreciated and until next time guys.
