[REVIEW] Revlon Colourstay Foundation

As promised I am coming back with a review of the Revlon Colourstay Foundation for oily/combination skin. If you guys read my favourites then you obviously know this review is a positive one. I picked this up in Boots for £12.99, I believe, in the shade Buff.

I’m going to jump right in and talk about the packaging. It feels really good quality because it’s a glass bottle and guys it has a pump, I hate it when foundations don’t have a pump and most of you will know that my other favourite foundation doesn’t have a pump. The shade I picked up is a very light colour and an awesome match for when I’m really pale, the crazy thing is is that it’s not even their lightest shade. It’s got more of a yellow undertone, which is a lot better than most drugstore foundations because I always find that they have more of a pinky undertone.

The formula is great, the consistency is pretty much the same as most foundations, it’s not overly thick or runny. This foundation is has great coverage and I love a full coverage, I find that I don’t have to use much concealer if any concealer once I’ve applied it. Most of you are probably asking the question of does it look cakey and my answer to that is NO, I don’t find it to get cakey at all. It’s quite buildable, but I find you don’t need to build up because it’s quite full coverage after one application. The finish is a beautiful satin/ demi matte, I do find that once it’s set with powder it will obviously look matte, which is a shame because I love the satin finish, but without setting I will look terrible within a couple of hours no doubt. As for the bold claim on the front of the bottle stating 24 hrs wear, I haven’t tested this because my skin would in fact hate, but it does late all day without touchups.

Overall, I love this and it has become one of my favourite foundations, it’s right up there with my Estee Lauder Double wear. I have nearly used it up already. I highly recommend for anyone with oily skin and if you do or have tried this then let me know your thoughts in the comments below. I haven’t tried much from Revlon, but after trying this it makes me have faith in the brand and makes me want to try more from them. If you have any recommendations then please leave them in comments because I love hearing from you guys.

Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed or found this somewhat helpful, if you did then please give it a like, leave a comment or share it. Thanks again and I’ll speak to you guys soon.

  1. I haven’t tried this, but I love the double wear and I did hear this was quite similar, and it sounds like a great affordable option. I really like Revlon’s lip products too, and their photoready skinlights x
