[REVIEW] Makeup Revolution Unicorn VS Mermaid Palette

As I promised in last weeks haul, I’m giving you a review of the Makeup Revolution Unicorn vs Mermaid eyeshadow palette. You can purchase Makeup Revolution in Superdrug and on their own website, this palette was a steal at only £4.00. I know this palette may not appeal to many people because of it’s bright colours, making this not the most practical and wearable palette. I did explain in my haul the reason that I purchased this is for halloween, which I can officially say is next month. I like to plan ahead and I already know what I want to be this year, so I’m purchasing things for it here and there. What are you guys thinking of going as this year?

The packaging isn’t really anything special, but I cannot complain when the price is so ridiculously low. It’s definitely not high quality plastic and there is no mirror, just a window that showcases the unique colours inside. The palette does contain a what some might call a brush, but it’s just one of those with a sponge tip on either end. I never use these and i don’t know anyone that does, I just wish they wouldn’t bother putting them in at all.

You get 12 whole shadows in this palette that are mostly a shimmer formula, with some mattes that contain glitter in them. The more matte formula is definitely drier and didn’t swatch as well as you can see in the swatches above and below, but they did perform just as well on the eyes when applied with a brush. The pigmentation for these shadows is crazy for the price, I was so shocked when I first swatched the shimmer shades. There is a very miner amount of fall out and the glitter does get everywhere, so I recommend doing your eyes first then the rest of your face. They blend pretty well and they stayed on my eyes pretty much all day, I’m not someone that uses eye primer either.

Overall I’m really astonished with the quality of these shadows and feel like I need to pick up some more Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes. If your in need of a colourful eyeshadow palette then I highly recommend that you pick this one up. Although I’m probably not going to be reaching for this everyday because blue/purple isn’t really my go to colour. If you have tried this or have any recommendations, then let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading if you enjoyed or found this somewhat helpful, please give it a like, leave a comment or share it. Thanks again and I’ll speak to you soon guys.
