[REVIEW] Bare Minerals Gen Nude Liquid Lipstick

For Christmas my lovely boyfriend gifted me the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick trio. I have to admit this is my first time trying anything from Bare Minerals before and I was super excited. This trio retails for around £31, although I don’t think it’s available anymore, I believe they do sell these shades separately for around £17. There are many places you can Bare Minerals, it’s not too hard to find.

The packaging of these was really nice, the box was definitely too big for only 3 liquid lipsticks and could stand to be much smaller. The tubes themselves feel really nice quality and the clear tubing goes from a frosted matte to a shiny end, which I think is a really nice detail. I did notice on the darker shade, there seems to the black band missing, you can see in the first picture and it shows that they really don’t fill the tube to the top, The applicator is pretty standard I believe, it’s just a regular doe foot applicator. The pigmentation is really good in the two lighter shades, but the darker shade is a bit streaky and would require a more careful application, with layers.

The dry time is really quite quick and they dry down really matte, some people will most likely find these maybe a tad drying. They last a reasonably long time and will of course come off after eating something oily or drinking from a cup lots. I did find that after a while I didn’t look as nice on the lips because it made my lips look dry and emphasised all the little cracks on my lips. I didn’t notice much transferring with these when drinking from cups or straws, which is a bonus if you like something not to transfer.

Overall, I wouldn’t say they’re bad if your going to be wearing them for a short period of time, but there are definitely better liquid lipsticks out there that cost half the price. I will probably still use these just because I love the colours, I’m a sucker for some nudes. If you have tried these I would love to know your experience with them and if you have any recommendations, then let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed it and if you did then please give it a like, leave a comment and share it. Thanks again guys and I’ll speak to you soon.
